What is GWMailMerge?

GWMailMerge is a plugin for GroupWise which allows you to create serial letters and serial emails. GWMailMerge needs Microsoft Word in order to create serial letters. The creation of serial emailssolely relies on GroupWise.

With GWMailMerge you can create HTML based email newsletters and send personalised content to any number of your customers.

How can I start GWMailMerge?

GWMailMerge seamlessly integrates into GroupWise. To start GWMailMerge simply click the new Mail merge icon on your GroupWise toolbar. GWMailMerge cannot be started as standalone application.

Can I run GWMailMerge on Citrix Terminal Servers?

The plain answer is yes, you can. To useGWMailMerge onTerminal Server Installations of GroupWise give yourusers write accessfor the C3PO key in the HKLM branch of theterminal serversregistry.

Just change the rights for your normal users on the following key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\GroupWise\

5.0\C3PO\DataTypes\GW.CLIENT.WINDOW.BROWSER\GWMailMerge]

Which GroupWise Client versions are supported?

GWMailMerge was tested using GroupWise 6.5, it is most likely that it will run on client versions downto 6.0. But there is generally no support for problems related to client versions below 6.5.

Which additional software is required?

For GWMailMerge's database connectivity to work the Borland Database Engine is required. The GWMailMerge installer comes with BDE 5.1.1 which will be automatically installed during the install process. It's safe to abort the installer if BDE has been installed previously. A separate download for BDE can be found on info.borland.com/devsupport/bde/bdeupdate.html .

GWMailMerge relies on Microsoft Word, which has to be installed on the computer in order to create serial letters. Other word processor applications are not supported at the time being. GWMailMerge was tested against Word XP and Word 2000 and it's most likely that it'll work with Word 97.
